The Diamond Works celebrates the patisserie perfection that is Just Baked. A local gem, Lameez Abrahams creates soulful treats that steal the limelight in celebrating big life moments which we encourage. Taking international tastes and bringing them to the Cape Town door step.
Lameez, a world class baker and the owner of Just Baked. Coming from a creative family and always having a passion for fashion, Lameez started out by getting her Diploma in fashion at CPUT. Once she got married and had her first born, she then decided to become a home executive aka “stay-at-home-mom”
At home, she then started baking her kid’s birthday cakes and her love for designing and creating a pieces were renewed. Lameez’s family was also a huge influence as she comes from a family with a zeal for cooking and baking, her mom being the main influence has always been baking since she can remember. Almost immediately she started up her brand Just Baked, social media was one of her main driving’s as she has more than 50k followers on Instagram.
“I LOVE to Travel!” says Lameez, it encourages new designs. Traveling exposed Lameez to different types of cakes and designs. This then inspires her designs, she brings it to the drop step of Cape Town clients. She has studied in London at Le Carlton as well as Ritz Carlton in Paris, during this period she was able to learn the art of Macarons and improve her skills as a baker and designer. These opportunities were a major highlight in her career and really exposed the true baker in Lameez.
Sasko approached Lameez in 2019 to create a few recipes for their Eid campaign that they would run. During this period, she was then named Sasko’s top baker and featured on Expresso and Pick n’ Pay Magazine. Since then, Just Baked has grown to the point of collaborating with other brands such as Kitchenaid & Le creuset.
Her recently collaboration was with The Diamond Works. A social media giveaway was done for the period of Easter, followers had to guess what was in the bunny baked by Lameez and follow both Just Baked & The Diamond Works on Instagram and whoever has followed the instruction and guessed correctly would then be in the running for the prize.
Every birthday has a highlight and for many it would be Just Baked’s Cakes. Lameez’s creation will leave you wanting more and with all of Just Baked’s new designs and eye-catching colours, we are so excited to see what new tastes are in store for us.
